Cool lifestyle stores Quiksilver and Fat Face and Italian designer denim store J4 Jeans, have taken stores at St David's, the new shopping centre which opens in the heart of Cardiff on October 22nd 2009.

Quiksilver, which has legendary skate boarder Tony Hawke's as an ambassador and Fat Face, sponsor of the UK waterskiing team, will bring their beach, surf and extreme sports clothes and equipment to St David's; Quiksilver has taken 2,182 sq ft for its first store in Cardiff and Fat Face has taken 3,174 sq ft. J4 Jeans, 'the hottest denim brand around at the moment' according to personal shoppers' portal istylista.com, has taken a 1,471 sq ft shop as part of its spearhead to expand in the UK.

The stores will join the likes of All Saints, Crew and Hugo Boss in St David's along with John Lewis, in its second largest store in the UK, in Cardiff which attracts 27 million shoppers and ten million tourists each year.

Joanne Skilton, of Capital Shopping Centres (CSC), on behalf of St David's Partnership, the joint venture between CSC and Land Securities, said: 'Young and exciting brands such as J4 Jeans, Fat Face and Quiksilver are keen to open stores in St David's, attracted by the cosmopolitan catchment for what will be one of Europe's premier shopping destinations.'

The 967,500 sq ft (89,880 sq m) St David's, will join with the existing 427,000 sq ft (39,670 sq m) shopping Centre, to provide 1.4 million sq ft (129,135 sq m) of retail space in the heart of Cardiff. Cardiff. St David's will promote Cardiff into the UK's top ten retail destinations.
