CATH KIDSTON OPENS FIRST WELSH STORE AT ST DAVID'S

Cath Kidston is the latest brand to join the line up at St David's which is its first store in Wales.

The distinctive British lifestyle brand has opened on The Hayes, joining neighbours such as Jo Malone, Leia Lingerie, Jamie's Italian and LK Bennett.

The new store has a retro 1950s feel and feature a focal display area filled with Welsh holiday memorabilia collated over the years. St David's is Cath Kidston's 44th store to open in the UK and Ireland and the brand's first in Wales.

Jo Staveley, brand director for Cath Kidston, said: "We are delighted to have secured our first permanent location in Wales, having been keen to open a shop for some time. As the city's leading shopping and leisure destination, St David's is a buzzing location and gives us a great opportunity to retail our whole range to the local customer."

The shop stocks the full Cath Kidston range from home furnishings, fabrics and wallpaper to kitchenware, must-have fashion and accessories and a great children's and baby range. The brand is best known for its witty, vintage inspired prints and wide array of household and fashion products. Founded by its namesake in 1993, Cath Kidston is one of the most influential and original design companies to emerge from the UK in recent years.

Steven Madeley, centre director for St David's which is jointly owned by Land Securities and Capital Shopping Centres (CSC), said: "Cath Kidston is an iconic British brand and a fantastic name to join us at St David's. The look and feel of the store really stand out on The Hayes and they've added a distinct Welsh identity thanks to the Welsh holiday memorabilia it will display in store. We're sure it will be a popular shop with our shoppers."
