Cardiff Family Get Makeover Treat

One lucky family from Cardiff got to spend the day as VIPs as they were treated to a makeover from St David's.

Pat Carreyett and her partner Clive from Llandough won a competition run by the shopping centre and brought Pat's son and daughter-in-law Eddie and Tania Ross from Fairwater along as a treat.

The ladies were whisked away to the newly extended Debenhams store to begin their VIP experience whilst the boys visited the Suits You team to get fitted out for their new designer suits. The ladies were made-over by the Givenchy and GHD teams and were then treated to a glass of bubbly whilst the personal shopper selected an array of beautiful clothes for them to try on. With new outfits and professional make-up for the ladies and new suits for the boys, the family were then taken to a beautiful suite at St David's Hall for their very own professional family photo-shoot, giving them the opportunity to capture their makeover in the best way possible. To conclude the experience, the family were treated to a delicious meal at the new Gourmet Burger Kitchen restaurant which is part of the soon to open St David's.

Pat Carreyett said: 'I couldn't believe we had won the competition. I must have deafened the person who called me because I screamed down the phone - I was so excited! The day was just fantastic. We were treated like royalty with Champagne while we shopped for lots of gorgeous new clothes that I would never have picked out myself but looked really good! The family photos at the end of the day were lovely too. We are going to get them blown up for the front room.'

Pat's daughter-in-law Tania Ross said: 'I'm glad Mum asked us. It has been a real experience and the photos are something we will treasure for a long time.'

Steven Madeley, centre director at St David's, said: 'We thoroughly enjoyed spoiling Pat and her family. Everyone likes to be pampered and this was our way of saying thank you to them for shopping with us.'

The fully-extended St David's shopping centre will open on 22 October 2009, bringing even more top names and restaurants to Cardiff.
