SEVEN WONDERFUL NEW STORES FOR ST DAVID'S

Best Seller, Folli Follie, Mothercare, Blue Inc, Select, Thoughts Cards and Sports Direct have all confirmed they will be opening stores at St David's, the new shopping centre opening on 22nd October in the heart of Cardiff.

St David's represents the first shop in Wales for Best Seller which will open a 5,621 sq ft store, trading as men's fashion brand Jack & Jones and a separate Vero Moda women's store. Also new to Cardiff is accessories and jewellery store Folli Follie with 424 sq ft; gift and card specialist Thoughts in 3,621 sq ft and fashion stores Select with 2,651 sq ft and Blue Inc in 4,694 sq ft. Sports Direct store has taken a 17,863 sq ft shop.

The new retailers will join Cardiff debutants at St David's including Hugo Boss, Kurt Geiger, Radley, Quiksilver, All Saints, Cult and John Lewis with its second largest department store in the UK.

For Mothercare the 12,228 sq ft new store represents its return to the city-centre. Grahame Smith, Mothercare's property director, said: 'Mothercare is delighted to be opening in St David's after a year out of Cardiff City centre. We look forward to showcasing our new City Centre store format and hope our customers will enjoy the experience of shopping in this new environment.'

Joanne Skilton of Capital Shopping Centres (CSC), on behalf of the St David's Partnership, the joint venture between CSC and Land Securities, said: 'We are pleased that we continue to introduce new shops to Cardiff to enhance the well established retail credentials of this fantastic City and we are delighted that family favourite Mothercare is back in town'.

The new St David's will open on 22nd October and will extend the existing 427,000 sq ft (39,670 sq m) shopping centre, to provide 1.4 million sq ft (129,135 sq m) of retail space in the heart of Cardiff. The European capital receives 27 million shoppers and 10 million tourists each year, and St David's will promote Cardiff into the UK's top ten retail destinations.
