Every day is Valentine’s at Prezzo

I do love Valentine’s Day! It is a great reason to do something special with your loved one, and it certainly doesn’t mean spending loads of money…

My husband Warren and I rarely get time together, so a meal for two seemed the right way to celebrate. We were invited to Prezzo to try their Valentine’s menu, and I have to say, it did not disappoint. When we first arrived we were welcomed by the friendly and professional staff. The restaurant is cosy and warm, and from where we were sat we could see the food being freshly prepared. This was fantastic and made it even more of a special experience.

For £19.95 each we were given a starter, main, desert and a glass of pink fizz! We were spoilt for choice with the menu, but I quickly decided on the goat’s cheese starter, whilst Warren chose the antipasto. The goat’s cheese came with beetroot, onion relish and salad. It was simply gorgeous and didn’t last long on the plate! Warren’s starter was visually stunning, and just like my starter, it was gone in a flash.

For the main I chose the penne al pollo zafferano; pasta with chicken and chilli in a saffron sauce, and Warren picked the tre gusti pizza, which was layered with pepperoni, chicken and pancetta. The pasta was amazing, in a beautiful sauce of perfect consistency. The chicken was succulent and the heat from the red chilli really hit the spot. Warren’s pizza was perfect (yes, he shared!) and the base was so light yet crispy, with the perfect amount of sauce and topped with a generous amount of meat.

When it came to dessert Warren chose the tiramisu (which I didn’t get a picture of because it was gone in a flash!) and I chose the gelupo gelato burger. I was torn between the icecream options but settled on hazelnut and amaretti. As already mentioned, the tiramisu was good! My desert was also delicious and really different. An ice-cream burger, very popular at the moment in Sicily, was just the treat I needed for Valentine’s Day. The ice-cream flavours were delicious, especially the amaretti, and the brioche bun was sweet and made the perfect accompaniment to the ice cream.

We had a fantastic Valentine’s experience thanks to Prezzo, the food and staff were equally amazing and we left full of food and full of love.

The great thing is, all the items on the Valentine’s menu are available from the full menu. I can only suggest that, if you want to taste high quality Italian food at a reasonable price, then get yourself down to Prezzo- pronto!
