Yippee! It is officially my favourite time of year - Halloween! I love spooky things, getting all dressed up and eating delicious ghoulish food! My children love it too, but hey, what choice do they have with a big kid like me?!

So, in order to get everyone in the party spirit, we started our celebrations early and held Halloween Part 1! Any excuse really… Of course, the actual party began with our favourite Halloween song, ‘The Monster Mash’. Molly donned her wart laden nose, tall black hat and broomstick and I opted for the cat costume.  Our little boy was poorly, so although he didn’t feel like getting dressed up, he really got into the party spirit, especially when the food came out!

Every year it is great to get the kiddies crafting and food to share with everyone, but in between school runs, cooking, cleaning - and then sitting down with a cuppa and getting called away to fish a toy out of the toilet or to break up a sibling row (daily in our household) - there is little time to pre-cook and organise everything. So this year we turned to faithful Marks and Spencer for Halloween party food and nibbles, and they did not disappoint!

With a range of savoury and sweet Halloween treats, there is something for everyone. The in store display was very impressive, with pumpkin piñatas, furry Halloween toys and cobwebs galore. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the belly!

We selected spooky witch finger biscuits which were so delicious - but they went down better with the adults (tehe) - and Ghostly Bites (rice crispy and chocolate cakes) which everyone loved. For the savoury lovers, we tried the Spooky Ghosts and Vampire Bats (lightly salted spooky crisps) and retro jelly sweets which totally took me back to my own childhood - scrummy!

To finish off, we munched on Creepy Cupcakes, a big hit with the adults (the topping was scooped off by the kiddies, but the sponge was demolished by the rest of us!) and multipacks of Gruesome Body parts (jelly sweets that included jelly brains, teeth, feet and other body parts), what else would you want for a Halloween treat?

All in all, we had a deliciously spooky feast thanks to the individual and unique food provided by Marks and Spencer.

So, when you get a spare 5 minutes (I know, I know… but try!) pop to Marks and Spencer in St David’s to grab some gorgeous treats for a superbly ghoulish Halloween!

And finally, Happy Halloween!!
