It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

The Christmas season has been approaching for a while in our household; between school concerts, crafting our own decorations and fighting over who will put the star on our wonky tree, there is precious time to buy, wrap and of course hide the children’s gifts!

I am fairly organised so I started Christmas shopping at the end of October, which gives me plenty of time to budget as well as wrap everything in time for the Christmas rush. Of course, St David’s provides the perfect shopping destination with a varied selection of children’s stores as well as a fantastic array of restaurants to choose from when you’re feeling weary and loaded down with bags!

Having a very imaginative pair of little ones, the Lego store seems the most appropriate first stop. They can lose themselves in the world of Harry Potter, or wake up to a superhero scenario on Christmas day; the world is your oyster when it comes to Lego! The other great thing is the price range can accommodate most budgets; even the little create-your-own figures will keep children entertained for some time. Perfect whilst you relax with some mulled wine on Christmas Day!

Old school games are making a come-back, from Dominos to Pick-up-Sticks and even chess for the more concentrated of children. Hamley’s is a great store for traditional toys and unique gifts; the interactive toy sections in this shop make it even easier when deciding on gifts since your children can test drive the toys! The staff are fantastic with children, showing them how things work and playing fun games with them- a fantastic distraction whilst you grab the gifts you need!

If clothes are more up your street for a Christmas gift then it has to be a cheesy Christmas jumper- this year they are more popular than ever! Marks and Spencer have a fantastic selection of jumpers; one with the classic ‘Ho! Ho! Ho!’ on the front for £14-18 and they also have a fab penguin jumper for £18-22.

Even better are the fantastic array of costumes out there, from Spiderman to Rapunzel The Disney Store have it all and the action figures to match! They also sell nightwear and plush cuddly toys that would be amazing for little ones to snuggle up with on Christmas Day.

Whatever your needs for a shopping trip to select presents for those special little people in your life, St David’s has it all.
