One more day til Halloween

One more day til Halloween!!!!

It’s my favourite time of year and hasn’t it come around quickly? I am so mega excited to be hosting a small kid’s party at our house, yet I am (even the day before) feeling a little nervous and unprepared…

I have the food and drink planned out; there will be jelly worms, witch fingers, pumpkin biscuits and frozen hands to float the fizzy witch’s brew, as well as delights that are of the shop bought variety. I searched out M&S again this year and bought individual sweetie bags that contain bones, brains and fingers as well as my favourite jelly sweets that make me feel like a kid again (I am saving some of these for myself and I don’t care who knows it!).

When it comes to decorating the house, well… this year it has been mostly about the ‘making’ in our home. The kiddies have loved making things themselves and seeing them hung up around the house. However, we have taken advantage of some of the creepy things on offer in the shops and here are some of my favourite Halloween buys…

Have you been to Tiger yet?! If not, why not? Get there now!!!!

Tiger have some awesome Halloween goodies, I especially love the ghostly cups, plates and napkins (8 for £1) and the spooky hanging spider for only £2! I hung one of these from our light fitting and added lots of the white webbing to it to make it really creepy. You could also add the self-adhesive ruby spiders to the web (£1 for 20) to give the illusion of a spider’s nest- scary!

Halloween seems to be bigger and better this year, so there is no excuse for not dressing up. Once again Tiger have some simple accessories like their dressing up witch fingers (10 for £1) and a fascinator witch’s hat for only £3. So, even if your kids don’t like the idea of a full blown outfit, you can get a small accessory or pop over to M&S because they stock some really great tops, my favourite being Frankenstein’s Monster (which I just have to get for my little girl- she is obsessed with him!). And for the parents and kids that want to go all out this Halloween (ME ME ME!!) then check out M&S’s Room on the Broom pyjamas- they are fab!

For the more daring child (or parent), you need to head to Claire’s… they stock an array of Halloween goodies. They vary from spider web false nails to full on costumes and I simply adore the spider headband which I know would go perfectly with my son’s spider costume.

So if you are last minute panic buying, look no further than St David’s, everything you need all under one roof. You could even pop into Krispy Kreme’s on your way home and try their delicious selection of Halloween doughnuts! Yummy!

Happy Halloween!
