The new H&M launches in Cardiff!

The red carpet was out this week to welcome the new H&M store to St David's Shopping Centre. It is the biggest H&M store in the UK and it was definitely the place to be last night, with 25% off for those that queued before 6pm.

We took the children along so that they could have a nosey at the new store and pick out a few items of their choice. Whilst we waited (on the red carpet!) we were pleasantly surprised to hear the Lewis Girls' School perform. Molly was mesmerised at this point!

The store looked pretty impressive from outside, so we couldn't wait to get inside and see what it was all about. As we entered the store we were greeted with smiling faces, cupcakes and goodie bags. George and Molly demolished their cupcakes as we headed towards the escalator and up to the childrenswear section.

'Wow!' was my initial reaction. The children's clothing area was huge and we didn't know where to start! But then we noticed the well laid out signs and this, along with the very helpful staff, meant we found our way around easily. There is so much space, I could keep an eye on George and Molly as well as having a good look at the products on offer. The kiddies were taken by the mirror with the height chart, something new and exciting to not only keep kiddiewinks entertained but they also give an indication to the right size clothing for each child.

Whilst we were there we indulged in the complimentary candyfloss and picked up a few 'treats'. I say treats, but George, the ever sensible child, picked a striped fleece jumper for himself. This was a great find, for only £5.99 George will be wrapped up nice and warm for winter! He also chose an Elsa headband and gloves, because he likes to dress up too!

Molly was a bit more of a shopaholic, she chose two lovely long-sleeved tops, both £2.99 each. I couldn't believe how inexpensive their choices were, such great finds and perfect for the winter months. She also spotted a headband with a sparkly crown on top and several floral headbands in the women's section! She knows what she likes and I love that!

Whilst we were on the lower floor we were treated t a selection of mocktails, they were delicious and kept us all refreshed whilst we shopped. I popped into the home section too whilst I was there, and it is amazing! It has everything you need to make your home cosy, cool and quirky. There was also a large beauty area, with a nail bar. I didn't manage to have my nails painted, but it looked so good I wish I had had more time.

This new store has everything a more for H&M fans old and new. The space, the selection and most importantly, the welcoming staff all added to the experience of their opening night.

They are continuing the celebrations over the next few days with activities for children and if I were you I would get down there and join in the fun! You won't regret it.
