The Summer is over… time to Scrub up for school with John Lewis!

Thu 27 Aug 2015 - posted by Kelly Allen

This summer has flown by, and as usual, I have left uniform shopping til the very last minute. I think this may be my subconscious, I am not ready for the kids to go back yet! I will miss all the varied days of activities, getting sticky and the abundance of cuddles and kisses.. but, I have to be realistic. George and Molly will be back in school very soon and I am desperate for school uniform; they have either grown out of last years or it is too stained with paint/food/mud for me to even consider putting them in it!

John Lewis's range is high in quality and very reasonably priced, and I was lucky enough to be able to try out a few of their items on the kiddies. The white polo shirts (two for £3-£10) were a big hit, they were a great fit and George loved the fact that he could do up the top button! Does anyone else's child get really frustrated if they can't do that pesky top button up? Well, with these shirts, you can! I think it's down to the soft fabric used to make the top, there's no stiffness to the material which is a big bonus.

George tried the grey trousers out (2 pairs for £8) and he really liked wearing them. The bonus with these trousers is the no zip/button feature, they were very easy to pull up or down when getting dressed/undressed. George doesn't like fiddly clothes, so this was a simple yet helpful design for him.

On the hanger the grey pinafore (£15 each) didn't really wow me, but as soon as Molly put it on I really liked it and so did she. It is a great length and the traditional style is very adorable, I loved the chunky 'stay sharp' pleats and v-neck design. There is also a built-in feature with the fabric because it repels water, oil and stains. This is a fantastic feature, especially with Molly; she loves nothing more than digging around in the mud and splashing in puddles!

Molly's outfit was topped off with a royal blue cardigan (£11 each), which felt very high in quality.; this is probably down to the fact that it is made out of 100% cotton. It also has features that include 'lasting colour', 'resists piling' and is machine washable.

George and Molly looked simply adorable in the John Lewis uniforms, and really comfortable, which is a big bonus. Some of the items are from John Lewis's basic range, but they look and feel high in quality and like they will last the whole school year, if not longer!

I am so glad I had the chance to view their range and more importantly, George and Molly were extremely happy with their new, comfortable yet smart uniforms.
