50 Shades of..... Lipstick

A changing season means it's time to update your makeup and we've teamed up with Bobbi Brown in John Lewis to give you exclusive tips, tricks and hottest products, to keep you looking your best this spring. This week, we're talking lipsticks.
50 shades of lipstick
1) Bold or subtle for spring? Gloss or matte?
This spring, Bobbi is loving bright lips paired with a neutral eye. We have just launched three limited edition Art Sticks in bold pink, orange and berry shades. They have a creamy matte texture and look great with neutral shimmer eye. We've also just extended our Creamy Lip Color and Sheer Lip Color ranges which offer bold shades but in a glossy finish - a great option for someone who wants to go bright but has never tried it before.
2) Is lip liner still necessary?
Bobbi likes to apply lip liner after lipstick rather than before. This way as your lipstick wears throughout the day the liner will fade with it, so it doesn't leave you with a bare lip and heavy liner look. For those who've never tried lip liner before, Bobbi's Art Sticks are great as they offer two in one liner and colour and are easy to apply on the go.
3) What are your top tips for making you lipstick last longer?
Always prep the lips with moisture first. Apply the Lip Balm SPF 15 with your skincare in the morning so your lips have chance to absorb the balm. For a bolder long wearing look, apply lip liner all over the lips first and then apply a matte lip colour, like Bobbi's Creamy Matte Lip Colour on top.
