Formalwear for 2014 by T.M. Lewin

2014 is set to be the year of formalwear with the majority of designers incorporating smart elements into their collections for Spring/Summer. From Dolce & Gabbana to Tom Ford, all the major names in menswear sent suits down the runway.

London may be the tailoring capitol of the world, but there’s no need to stray further than Cardiff to pick up the perfect suit, thanks to our capitols very own T.M Lewin.

Having dressed gentleman for well over 100 years, T.M Lewin is the place to go when stocking your wardrobe with crisp shirts, contemporary tailoring, traditional suits, and all the finishing touches.

I’ve been shopping to pick some of these season’s must-haves for all occasions.

1. Shackelton Slim Fit Metallic Blue Suit - £179. With metallics all over the runways from Paris to Berlin, now is the time to invest in a soon to be huge trend for this year. Felt fabric melton creates a smooth curve that sits properly, while a floating chest piece ensures the jacket moulds to your shape.

2. Guinness Slim Fit Black Dinner Suit - £199. A black suit is a wardrobe stable - this one button jacket is more fitted at the waist, has a narrower shawl lapel, and lower buttoning for a contemporary take on a classic look.

3. Watson Regular Fit Grey Herringbone Suit - £199. A Herringbone pattern is by far one of the most popular clothes used for suits and outerwear. It provides super-rich texture to this classic-cut suit.
